Student With Cerebral Palsy Scores Touchdown

October is National Anti-Bullying Awareness Month. In honor of the cause, I'll be sharing stories and resources that promote empathy while aiming to abolish hate. I hope you'll join the conversation.

Today I have a happy story - the type of story that occurs when a community embraces equality.

Thirteen-year-old Jack McGraw is an 8th grade student with cerebral palsy. He grew up wanting to be an athlete, but his disability limits him to the sidelines.

Jack attends every practice and every game for his school's football team. He participates by cheering on his classmates and celebrating their victories. Earlier this month, Jack was surprised with a victory of his own. Take a look:

This is what true sportsmanship looks like. This is what acceptance sounds like.This is what unity feels like.
