Teen Girls Assault A Mentally Challenged Woman

October is National Anti-Bullying Awareness Month. In honor of the cause, I'll be sharing stories and resources that promote empathy while aiming to abolish hate. I hope you'll join the conversation.

Some feel even the cruelest bullies have limitations. But among the six teenage girls who filmed themselves beating a 48-year-old mentally-challenged woman, anyone is fair game.

The victim was sitting peacefully outside her home when a group of girls attacked without cause or warning. One of the girls filmed the beating and later posted it online. As the incident circulated the Internet, one outraged viewer called the police.

The District Attorney is charging the teens as adults. They face charges for aggravated assault and home invasion.
