To This Day

A colleague e-mailed this video as an All Staff last night. I'm not sharing my opinion today; I'm simply sharing the video. Should you have a few minutes to spare, I encourage you to give it a look. In my humble opinion, this one is worth the watch.

The following blurb is from the To This Day Project website, where the video below was posted:

To This Day Project is a project based on
a spoken word poem written by Shane Koyczan
called “To This Day”, to further
explore the profound and lasting impact
that bullying can have on an individual.

Schools and families are in desperate
need of proper tools to confront this
problem. We can give them a starting
point… A message that will have a far
reaching and long lasting effect in confronting bullying.

Animators and motion artists brought
their unique styles to 20 second
segments that will thread into one fluid voice.

This collaborative volunteer effort will
demonstrate what a community of
caring individuals are capable of when
they come together.

In other news, my half-birthday was yesterday. I'm officially closer to thirty than I am twenty-nine. Lame.

Have a great day, friends.

  1. I thought the video and poem were both beautiful, personally. A lot of what was read in it really hit home with me, being someone who was constantly bullied for 10+ years in school. Thanks for posting.

Also, my half-birthday was this week too, so Happy Birthday! (I'm now closer to 26 than 25.)

  2. Egad, you're both so young!

That's one moving video. Thanks. As someone who was teased a lot in school I know names CAN hurt you.

Bullying is such a huge problem and the answers are never easy.

Feeling kind? Leave me some love.
